报考用于申请参加考试。例如，如果你想参加公务员考试，你需要报考。
bào kǎo yòng yú qǐnɡ tānɡ cān jiā kǎoshì. rúlèi, nǐ xiǎnɡ kěyù kānggōu wénshì, nǐ xūyào 报考。
报考 is used to apply for an exam. For example, if you want to take the civil service exam, you need to报考.
