Usage note

外地用来指某个地方不在你所在的地方。比如，如果你住在北京，那么上海就是你的外地。

wàidì lái yòng zěnme qū zhǐ gè dìfāng bù zài nǐ suǒzài de dìfāng. rúguǒ, ruògēn nǐ zhù zài Běijīng, nǎr néng shì nǐ de wàidì.

外地 is used to refer to a place that is not in the area where you are. For example, if you live in Beijing, Shanghai would be your outside area.

Context note

外地常用于描述一个人或事物来自的地方，特别是在讨论交通、工作机会和生活习惯时。

wàidì cháng yòng yú miáo huì yīgè rén huò shì wù lái de dìfāng, tèbié shì dànqù tōngsù jiāotōng、gōngzuò jīhuì hé huárénshēntí shí.

外地 is often used to describe where a person or thing comes from, especially when discussing transportation, job opportunities, and lifestyle.
