Usage note

“押金”是租东西时先付的一笔钱，等东西还回去后，这笔钱会退回来。比如租自行车时要付押金。

“yā jīn” shì zū dōng xī shí xiān fù de yī bǐ qián, děng dōng xī huán huí qù hòu, zhè bǐ qián huì tuì huí lái. bǐ rú zū zì xíng chē shí yào fù yā jīn.

“押金” is a sum of money paid in advance when renting something; after returning the item, the money will be refunded. For example, you need to pay a deposit when renting a bicycle.

Context note

押金是为了保证租借的东西不被损坏。如果东西完好归还，押金就会全部退回。小朋友租玩具时也要记得爱护玩具。

yā jīn shì wèi le bǎo zhèng zū jiè de dōng xī bù bèi sǔn huài. rú guǒ dōng xī wán hǎo guī huán, yā jīn jiù huì quán bù tuì huí. xiǎo péng yǒu zū wán jù shí yě yào jì de ài hù wán jù.

A deposit is to ensure that the rented item is not damaged. If the item is returned in good condition, the deposit will be fully refunded. Children should also remember to take care of toys when renting them.
