“劝”的意思是告诉别人应该做什么或不应该做什么，通常是为了帮助别人。
“Quàn” de yìsi shì gàosu biérén yīnggāi zuò shénme huò bù yīnggāi zuò shénme, tōngcháng shì wèile bāngzhù biérén.
"To advise" means to tell someone what they should or should not do, usually to help them.

Dāng péngyou huò jiārén zuò kěnéng bù hǎo de shìqíng shí, wǒmen kěyǐ yòng “quàn” lái wēnhé de tíxǐng tāmen.
When friends or family do something that might be bad, we can use "to advise" to gently remind them.
建议 is a milder form of advising, more like suggesting.
说服 means to convince someone, while 劝 is to advise or urge.
阻止 means to stop someone from doing something, opposite of urging them to do it.
