“熟人”指认识的人，但不一定是好朋友。
“Shúrén” zhǐ rènshi de rén, dàn bù yīdìng shì hǎo péngyou.
"Shúrén" means someone you know, but not necessarily a close friend.
Context note
在街上遇到熟人，我们会打招呼。
Zài jiē shàng yù dào shúrén, wǒmen huì dǎ zhāohu.
When we meet an acquaintance on the street, we greet them.
