Usage note

“突出”用来形容一个人或事物在某个方面非常优秀，比别人更厉害。

“Tūchū” yònglái xíngróng yīgè rén huò shìwù zài mǒu gè fāngmiàn fēicháng yōuxiù, bǐ biérén gèng lìhài.

"Outstanding" is used to describe a person or thing that is very excellent in some aspect, better than others.

Context note

在学校里，老师经常表扬成绩突出的同学，因为他们学习很努力。

Zài xuéxiào lǐ, lǎoshī jīngcháng biǎoyáng chéngjì tūchū de tóngxué, yīnwèi tāmen xuéxí hěn nǔlì.

At school, teachers often praise students with outstanding grades because they study very hard.
