Usage note

选手是指参加比赛的人。比如，运动会上有很多选手在跑步。

Xuǎnshǒu shì zhǐ cānjiā bǐsài de rén. Bǐrú, yùndònghuì shàng yǒu hěnduō xuǎnshǒu zài pǎobù.

Contestant refers to a person who participates in a competition. For example, at the sports meet, there are many contestants running.

选手可以参加体育比赛、唱歌比赛或知识竞赛等。

Xuǎnshǒu kěyǐ cānjiā tǐyù bǐsài, chànggē bǐsài huò zhīshi jìngsài děng.
