Usage note

展开的意思是开始做某事或打开某物。比如，展开活动或展开地图。

Zhǎnkāi de yìsi shì kāishǐ zuò mǒushì huò dǎkāi mǒuwù. Bǐrú, zhǎnkāi huódòng huò zhǎnkāi dìtú.

To carry out means to start doing something or to open something. For example, to carry out an activity or to unfold a map.

Context note

在课堂上，老师会展开讨论。展开需要大家一起参与。

Zài kètáng shàng, lǎoshī huì zhǎnkāi tǎolùn. Zhǎnkāi xūyào dàjiā yīqǐ cānyù.

In class, the teacher will carry out a discussion. Carrying out requires everyone to participate together.
